1st Send (St. Mary's) Scout Group - Woking District in Surrey UK -

			Hi, thanks for visiting the website for 1st Send (St. Mary's) Scout Group. Our Scout Group is, as the name suggests, in Send Village near Woking in Surrey UK. We have a thriving group of young people and adults based in our own headquarters on the banks of the River Wey navigation and surrounded by woodland ... both river and woods provide an ideal location for the more practical Scouting activities. I'm Neil Freeman, the Group Scout Leader, and as such I oversee the running of our three sections ... the Beavers, the Cubs and the Scouts. Our Group is open to both boys and girls aged between 6 and 14 years of age but please visit our other webpages for further information on the Sections, their particular age groups and their activities and programmes. We sometimes have immediate vacancies for new members, but occasionally we have to put young people on a waiting list. For any membership enquiries, please visit our Fancy Joining page ... but remember - if a parent volunteers as an adult member, their young person jumps straight to the top of the waiting list ... or even directly into a section if conditions permit! We have several openings for volunteer adults. These can be uniformed positions, working with our young people on a regular basis, or in non-uniformed support roles which are equally as important, but do not often require the level of regular commitment needed for the hands-on Leader positions. Volunteering as an adult in Scouting can be a very rewarding experience where we provide any training needed, you provide as much time as you want and ... well, the fun just happens along the way! - Please visit our 'Fancy Joining?' page for more information ... don't worry, you don't sign up automatically just by clicking on the button!!
